Hello mates
As Johnny already knows, just recently I have been less than impressed by the profound comments made about my sound equipment on the forum. A lot has been written about the material that I have and it is almost always repeated over and over. By the way, circumstances and opinions are very personal to each person.
Anyhow, there is one exception. It had been a while since I had looked at the suspended audio-rack made by Artesanía and I will be very sincere; I loved the design – different, special and technical – that I saw on the internet. I wasn’t too worried whether it improved the sound or not; I was attracted by the look and nothing else.
When the opportunity arose I got hold of one, without looking for any proof in terms of the acoustic treatment and consequent improvements that are achieved, according to the tests carried out in various magazines.
After an hour and a half in setting it up, plus the time it took to place all the electronics, we settled ourselves – beer in hand – for the first performance.
Dialogue between “shocked” listeners:-
- Well, the music seems more defined.
- Yeah, something’s changed.
- Maybe it’s clearer?
- Maybe the low tones are more controlled.
- I think the sound is less flawed
Dialogue of a less compliemntary nature:-
- Well it’s OK but before it had something else that it hasn’t got now.
- It’ll be that the electronics are cold, there’s no atmosphere.
- Yeah, it’s like there’s no personality to the music.
- Are we a bit confused?
- We need to change back to the old rack.
We were there an hour – the beer long since finished – and the unit hadn’t shown much promise.
Almost immediately the situation changed - after about two hours of fastidious listening. However, this sudden change was not because of the unit; the electronics had needed a certain time to settle down and return to a decent performance level.
From that moment on we went from surprise to surprise. The music was as good as before but with much greater clarity; the sound from the speakers was immaculately clean, the tone of he voices and instruments was superior and there was noticeable separation between them. Details of the music that had been previously imperceptible suddenly appeared, and all this even at low volumes.
To conclude; a massive plus in every respect. Of course my surprise was even greater as I had honestly not expected any significant change by changing a piece of furniture. (I am a bit sceptical.) However, I can now confirm without a shadow of a doubt, that in my music room and with my sound set-up, this unit has performed miracles in improving the overall quality of the sound. My congratulations go to the gentlemen from Artesanía-audio for this marvellous technology and to Johnny for his revelations on the forum about the set up.
Cheers
