Products purchased by this customer: two Reference units – one vertical and the other set up as a double “tandem” and a conversion kit to upgrade to the Prestige model.

My first experience

“I bought my first Reference table in 2006. I was pleased with the results – it wasn’t like changing the whole system (equipment still keeps its own character even on a new rack) but the improvement was certainly more significant than other changes I could have made, such as new speaker cables or new amplifier cables.

I was quite shocked as I hadn’t expected such a notable difference simply by changing the furniture holding my sound system.

The change I noticed was no small thing; the improvement was substantial and very evident to any listener from the start. The improvement was certainly better than anything I could have gained through making other changes in the equipment.”

The acoustic improvements

“I already had a good quality unit but it was subject to resonance and created echoes that multiplied. There were few silences and the music was compact.

Once I changed the unit, I achieved an increase in the aeration. The elliptic three-dimensional space where a listener can enjoy music was increased, but more importantly, within this ellipse the silences were clearly perceptible. It was like listening to music in a vacuum – a fantastic sensation. Of course real music is just like that! The new sensation was unadorned music, as all the surplus sound was eliminated.

What I have noticed most with this unit is that it is possible to hear the silences, and of course, the individual instruments and voices are much more defined. It is particularly noticeable when the instruments first appear and as they fade away, much later than I had previously noticed. Well, the music just takes on another dimension; much more natural.”

The upgrade of the Reference unit to the Prestige with the conversion kit.

“I wouldn’t say that the change was as dramatic as that achieved by going from a unit with no acoustic properties to a Reference model, but it was still noticeable; distinctly noticeable. By using the Prestige unit the virtues already mentioned where accentuated even further. In addition, I noticed that the listening ellipse I mentioned was a little bigger; the instruments appeared a little earlier and faded away even later. I wouldn’t say it was an enormous change but certainly big enough to say, ‘It was worth it!’”
